The Federal Government has urged Nigerian graduates to turn the country’s development challenges into business opportunities through innovation, entrepreneurship, and practical problem-solving. According to Dr Iziaq Adekunle Salako, the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, a university degree alone is no longer sufficient for employment or professional success. Instead, he urged graduates to acquire relevant skills and apply them to address the country’s numerous issues. Salako made these remarks at a recent event, where he emphasized the importance of creativity, resourcefulness, and resilience in finding solutions to Nigeria’s problems.
Salako’s comments come amidst growing concerns about unemployment and underemployment among Nigerian graduates, with many struggling to secure jobs in a highly competitive job market. However, he believes that turning the country’s challenges into opportunities can create new jobs and spur economic growth.
The minister’s call to action resonates with many Nigerian graduates who are eager to make a difference in their communities and the nation at large. The challenge, according to some, is finding the right resources, networks, and mentorship to turn ideas into reality.
The Federal Government’s push for innovation and entrepreneurship is a positive step towards addressing the country’s development challenges and creating a more prosperous future for all Nigerians.
