A Kano State High Court sitting at Bompai has delivered a historic verdict, sentencing two men to death by hanging for the murder of a 35-year-old housewife, Fatima Abubakar, and her six children in Dorayi Chiranci, Kano. The court, presided over by Justice Nasiru Saminu, delivered the judgment on Friday, November 6, 2026, following a trial that lasted several months. According to Daily Post Nigeria, the two convicts, Umar Auwalu, popularly known as ‘Dollar,’ and Ismaila Abubakar, were found guilty of the heinous crime. The sentencing comes as a relief to the wider community, who have been on edge following a spate of violent crimes in the region.
