Kano Guber: NDC’s Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo Missing from INEC’s Final List

In a surprising development, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Kano, Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, is missing from the final list of governorship candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The list, signed by INEC Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, contains 17 governorship candidates and their running mates from political parties contesting the election in Kano State (“Kano guber: Kwankwaso’s anointed candidate, Gwarzo, missing from INEC final list”, [Tribune Online](https://tribuneonlineng.com/kano-guber-kwankwasos-anointed-candidate-gwarzo-missing-from-inec-final-list/)). The omission of Gwarzo has sparked concerns among NDC supporters in Kano. According to the NDC’s Public Relations Officer, Yusif Fasaha, INEC has attributed the development to a computer error (“Kano guber: Why INEC omitted Gwarzo’s name from final list — NDC”, [Tribune Online](https://tribuneonlineng.com/kano-guber-why-inec-omitted-gwarzos-name-from-final-list-ndc/)). However, the exact cause of the error remains unclear. The INEC has not yet responded to requests for comment. The NDC has urged its supporters to remain calm while they work to resolve the issue. This development comes as several other governorship candidates’ names have been omitted from INEC lists in other states (“Pantami, Adebutu, Gwarzo Missing in INEC’s Final List of Gombe, Kano, Ogun Guber Candidates”, [Vanguard News](https://www.thisdaylive.com/2026/10/11/pantami-adebutu-gwarzo-missing-in-inecs-final-list-of-gombe-kano-ogun-guber-candidates/)).
