Makinde Appoints Senior Journalist as Special Adviser for 2027 Campaign

In a move to bolster his 2027 presidential campaign, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed veteran journalist and former Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) chieftain, Amos Dunia, as his Special Adviser on Public Affairs. This appointment was announced on Friday by the Director of Strategic Communications, Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation, according to Premium Times Nigeria.

Mr. Dunia, who is a former chairman of the NUJ FCT Council, brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in journalism and public affairs to the campaign team.

The appointment comes as Makinde gears up for his presidential run in 2027 under the Allied Peoples Movement (APM). The move is seen as a strategic one aimed at strengthening the campaign’s communication and messaging efforts.

According to Tribune Online, Dunia has a long history of involvement in journalism and public affairs. He served as the President of the NUJ FCT Council from 2014 to 2016, and has been a vocal advocate for press freedom and good governance.

Makinde’s appointment of Dunia is significant given his reputation as a seasoned journalist and respected figure within the Nigerian media industry. This move is likely to boost the campaign’s credibility and attract more supporters.
