Governor Makinde Approves N4.6 Billion Compensation for Circular Road Land Owners

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has given his approval for a sum of N4.6 billion to be paid as the initial tranche of compensation to property owners whose lands have been affected by the ongoing construction of the Circular Road project in Ibadan, the state capital. According to Punch Newspapers, the compensation is part of the government’s efforts to mitigate the impact of the construction on affected residents. The project, which is a key component of Governor Makinde’s infrastructure development agenda, is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in Ibadan. The approval of the compensation is a significant step towards ensuring that the rights of affected property owners are respected and compensated fairly as the project progresses.
