In a statement by the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Benard Onyeuko, it was revealed that the military operations across Nigeria have been successful, with 26 terrorists eliminated, 22 kidnap victims rescued and two suspected terrorist collaborators arrested in the past week. The military also reported that several terrorists and their family members surrendered to troops during operations across different geopolitical zones.
According to Onyeuko, the operations were carried out by the Nigerian Army, Air Force and Navy. He added that a total of 196 terrorists have been killed in Borno State alone since July, while several weapons and ammunition have been recovered.
