NBA Urges Judiciary to Adopt Faster Approach to Criminal Cases

In an effort to expedite the resolution of criminal cases, the Benin branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has urged the judiciary to consider adopting a faster approach, following the success of such an approach in a special court. According to a report by Punch Newspapers, the call was made during the 2026 Legal Year opening ceremony at the Edo State High Court on Wednesday. The NBA emphasized that the quicker resolution of cases would not only alleviate the backlog of cases but also bring justice to victims more swiftly. This appeal comes as part of a broader push for judicial reform in Nigeria, where lengthy trial processes have been a significant concern for many years.
