The National Universities Commission (NUC) has urged Nigerian graduates, particularly those from Trinity University, to focus on skills and competencies, rather than solely relying on academic certificates. The Executive Secretary of the NUC, Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu, made this call during the fifth convocation ceremony of Trinity University, Yaba, Lagos, on Friday. According to the Tribune Online, Ribadu stated that the global workforce is evolving rapidly, and graduates must be prepared to solve critical national problems and adapt to this changing landscape. The NUC boss emphasized the importance of creativity, competence, and integrity for Nigerian graduates to thrive in their careers. This call to action from the NUC highlights the need for a broader perspective on career development and the importance of skills beyond just academic qualifications.
