Ogun Provides N987 Million Palliative Support to Public Servants in Nine Months

In a bid to cushion the effects of the economic hardship on its workforce, the Ogun State Government has allocated a total of N987 million as palliative support to public servants in the past nine months. According to a report by Premium Times Nigeria, the latest allocation of ₦327,310,000 covers October to December 2026, following ₦330,630,000 allocated for April to June and ₦329,245,000 for July to September. This brings the total provision for the three quarters to ₦987,185,000. The palliative support, a measure aimed at alleviating the financial burdens faced by public servants due to the economic downturn, is a testament to the state government’s commitment to the welfare of its workforce. The allocation is a significant boost to the welfare packages of public servants in the state, especially as they grapple with the rising cost of living. The move is also seen as a strategy to boost the morale of the workforce, which is crucial for efficient service delivery.
