Rivers State Shuts Down Eight Quack Health Facilities, Arrests Four

In a concerted effort to tackle the menace of quackery in the health sector, the Rivers State Ministry of Health has sealed eight facilities and arrested four individuals for alleged impersonation and the operation of unregistered health facilities. This latest action follows last week’s closure of 21 health facilities across four local government areas of the state, as reported by Daily Post Nigeria. The move is part of the ministry’s ongoing October inspection and enforcement exercise aimed at ensuring the provision of quality healthcare services in the state. According to the ministry, the sealed facilities were discovered to be operating without proper registration and qualified personnel. This development underscores the importance of regulating the health sector to protect citizens from unqualified practitioners. It is not yet clear when the arrested individuals will be arraigned in court. This is a developing story, and EventsNigeria will continue to monitor the situation.
