The Super Falcons, Nigeria’s women’s national football team, have embarked on preparations for the highly anticipated 2028 Olympics Women’s Football Tournament qualifying match against their senior counterparts. According to THISDAYLIVE, 14 players commenced training yesterday evening in what signifies the start of their campaign towards representing Nigeria at the global stage.
The exact number of players invited for camping has not been disclosed yet, but this initial group of 14 provides a glimpse into the squad that Coach XYZ is preparing. Among the players present were star striker ABC and experienced defender DEF.
The Super Falcons have a rich history in international women’s football, having won several titles including the African Women’s Championship and the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Their participation in the Olympics has been a significant part of their journey, with the team making four appearances so far.
This latest qualifying campaign promises to be challenging, given the strong competition expected from other participating nations. However, Nigerians are hopeful that the Super Falcons will once again make the country proud on the international stage.
