Tinubu Extends Working Vacation in Europe, Set to Return Weekend According to Multiple Sources

According to multiple Nigerian media outlets, President Bola Tinubu has decided to extend his working vacation in Europe by a few days. The Presidency made the announcement on Monday through Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. This extension means that Tinubu will now return to Nigeria this weekend, instead of on the original scheduled date.

The exact reason for the extension has not been disclosed by the Presidency. However, it is worth noting that during his time abroad, President Tinubu met with French President Emmanuel Macron and businessman Vincent Bolloré in Paris.

It remains unclear when President Tinubu left Nigeria for Europe, but sources suggest he departed on August 30. This extension of his working vacation may indicate that the President is not yet ready to return to the daily pressures of leading the nation.

This development comes at a crucial time for Nigeria as the country faces several domestic and international challenges. The extension of Tinubu’s vacation could potentially delay decision-making on these issues, though it is unclear how significantly this will impact the country’s trajectory.

Editorial Notes: While multiple sources report on Tinubu extending his working vacation, it remains uncertain whether additional meetings or engagements have been scheduled during his time abroad.
