The Kano State Police Command has made a significant breakthrough in a case of armed robbery, recovering a tricycle allegedly stolen at gunpoint on the Kano-Maiduguri highway and arresting two suspects in connection with the incident.
According to a statement by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the incident occurred after the victim, identified as Nasiru Ibrahim, agreed to convey some passengers from Hotoro, a suburb of Kano city. The passengers, however, turned out to be armed robbers who seized the tricycle at gunpoint.
The Police Command has yet to disclose when the facility began operating, but the recovery of the tricycle and the arrest of the suspects are seen as a step towards ensuring the safety of citizens on the busy highway.
The case serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance and safety measures, particularly for commuters and drivers on busy highways.
