Banky W Transitions to Pastoral Work After 2023 Election Loss

In an unexpected turn of events, renowned Nigerian singer, filmmaker, and politician Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has shared his journey from politics to pastoral ministry after his defeat in the 2023 House of Representatives election. According to multiple sources, Banky W’s loss left him heartbroken and prompted him to seek a new direction, eventually leading him into pastoral ministry.

Vanguard News reported that the politician and entertainer, who lost the election to the incumbent, Olusegun Olulade, reflected on his purpose and began pastoral work in the United States.

Punch Newspapers added that Banky W, in a statement, shared his experiences, saying that the 2023 election loss was a turning point in his life.

Premium Times Nigeria also confirmed that Banky W was recently ordained as a pastor in the United States, although the exact date and location of the event have not been disclosed by the musician himself or any official sources.

This transition comes as a surprise to many, as Banky W has been a prominent figure in Nigerian entertainment and politics for several years. However, the reasons behind his decision to shift his focus remain unclear.
