INEC Excludes Four Parties from Bauchi 2027 Governorship Race

In a surprising turn of events, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has excluded the governorship candidates of four political parties from its published list of candidates for the 2027 Bauchi State governorship election. According to a report by Vanguard News, the affected parties are the Social Democratic Party (SDP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Action Alliance (AA), and Accord Party. The commission published the list, which omits these parties’ candidates, on October 11, 2026. It is unclear why these parties were omitted, and the commission has not yet provided any explanation. This decision has raised concerns about the fairness and transparency of the upcoming elections in Bauchi State. Voters and political parties are eagerly awaiting further clarification from INEC regarding this matter.
