In a bid to address the growing insecurity in the country, President Bola Tinubu has directed the heads of security agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment for Nigerians to vote freely in the elections scheduled for January, Minister of Defence General Christopher Musa (retd) has said. According to a report by the Vanguard News, the President gave this order following the increase in kidnappings and banditry across the nation. The Punch Newspapers also reported that Tinubu has ordered security chiefs to rescue all abducted persons and ensure no terrorist or bandit camp remains anywhere in Nigeria. The President’s directive comes as a relief to many Nigerians who have been affected by the ongoing insecurity in various parts of the country. The elections, which are scheduled for January, are expected to be a crucial test for Tinubu’s administration, as the President seeks to consolidate his power and deliver on his campaign promises. The President’s decision to tackle the security challenges head-on is a positive step towards ensuring a peaceful and democratic election process.
