The Makinde-Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation, MDPCO, has vowed a decisive victory in the 2027 presidential election against incumbent President Bola Tinubu. According to a report by Vanguard News, the organization, backing Seyi Makinde of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, has identified 12 battleground states where they plan to defeat Tinubu, including Rivers State and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. The campaign organization’s spokesperson, Tunde Akintola, was quoted as saying, ‘We are confident that Nigerians are yearning for a change, and we will provide that change.’ Tinubu’s campaign has not yet responded to these claims. The 2027 presidential election is expected to be a closely contested race, with several contenders vying for the top position. The battleground states identified by Tinubu, including Rivers State and Abuja, are expected to play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the election. While the MDPCO’s confidence is noteworthy, it remains to be seen if they can deliver on their promise. The stakes are high, and Nigerians are eagerly awaiting the election.
