51 African Nations Invest in Dangote Refinery’s Initial Public Offer

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals’ Initial Public Offering (IPO) has been met with significant interest, with investors from 51 African countries and over 90 countries worldwide subscribing to the offer. This was disclosed by the company. The IPO, which is ongoing, is expected to further boost the Nigerian economy and increase foreign investment. The refinery, one of the largest in Africa, is being developed by the Dangote Group, a leading Nigerian conglomerate with interests in various sectors including cement, sugar, salt, and flour.
According to THISDAYLIVE, the company raised its valuation by 33.4% to N700 billion, following the high demand for the IPO. This valuation increase suggests a strong level of confidence in the refinery’s potential to generate substantial returns for investors.
While the exact number of investors and the amount invested have not been disclosed, the participation of a significant number of African countries in the IPO is a positive sign for the continent’s growing role in global markets. The IPO is also a testament to the Dangote Group’s success in attracting foreign investment and its commitment to driving economic growth in Nigeria and Africa.
The IPO is expected to close soon, after which the shares will be listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE).
