Court dismisses Nollywood actor Emeka Ike’s N10bn suit against Wike’s aide

A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a N10bn fundamental rights suit filed by Nollywood actor Emeka Ike against Lere Olayinka, aide to Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), according to reports from Premium Times Nigeria and Punch Newspapers. The suit, which was filed in April 2022, was triggered by a social media post by Olayinka that Ike claimed defamed him. The court, however, ruled that the post did not cause Ike any injury. The post, ‘Court dismisses Nollywood actor’s N10bn damages suit against Wike’s aide, INEC’ appeared first on Premium Times Nigeria, while Punch Newspapers reported the court’s decision in a brief article, ‘Court dismisses Emeka Ike’s N10bn suit against Wike’s aide’.
