The French Development Agency (AFD) and the Bank of Industry (BoI) have partnered to unlock $30 million in financing for Nigeria’s creative sector. According to reports from THISDAYLIVE, the deal aims to expand access to credit for Nigeria’s creative industry. The AFD and BoI agreement follows a similar initiative by the Africa Export-Import Bank, which pledged $200 million for Nigeria’s creative sector in July 2026. This new deal marks a significant step towards addressing the funding challenges faced by Nigeria’s creative industry, a sector that contributes significantly to the country’s economy and cultural identity. The deal was reported by multiple sources, including Apex News Exclusive and Daily Trust, further underscoring its importance. However, the NNPC has not said when the facility began operating. Nigerians in the creative industry are eagerly awaiting the details of the deal and how it will be implemented.
