The National Vice Chairman of the Labour Party (LP) in the South-west, Dr Iyabo Obasanjo, and Action Alliance’s Adebutu Alex Enumah have announced plans to sue the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over alleged manipulation of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) register in Ogun State. According to THISDAYLIVE, Obasanjo expressed concern about the APC’s fear of facing Adebutu in Abuja and James Sowole in Abeokuta in the upcoming elections.
The allegations come at a time of heightened political tension in the state, with parties accusing each other of irregularities. While the PDP and its candidates claim that the register was altered to exclude their names, the APC has not commented on the matter. The INEC has also not responded to the allegations.
The legal action by Obasanjo and Enumah aims to ensure a fair and transparent election process in Ogun State. The outcome of the elections could have significant implications for the political landscape in the region, as well as for the national elections scheduled for early 2027.
