In a bid to enhance security in the Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, the Kano State Police Command has successfully thwarted an alleged kidnapping plot and apprehended two 20-year-old suspects. According to a report by Tribune Online, the two men, identified as Aliyu Naziru Garba and Bashir Alhasan, were arrested following intelligence-led operations by police operatives attached to the Gezawa Divisional Police Headquarters. The suspects are alleged to have threatened to abduct the village head of Gezawa, a move that the police say was intended to extort money. This is not the first time such an incident has been reported in Kano, which has been grappling with a surge in kidnapping cases in recent years. The arrest of these two suspects underscores the Kano State Police Command’s commitment to combating crime and maintaining peace in the state. It is essential that such efforts continue to ensure the safety and security of all residents.
