Prompt Payment of Entitlements Assured by APC Governorship Candidate as Oyo Doctors and LAUTECH ASUU Commence Strike

In a bid to assuage the fears of workers in Oyo State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has promised prompt payment of all entitlements due to them. This assurance comes as the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) commenced a strike over unpaid salaries and allowances. According to THISDAYLIVE, the APC candidate criticized the incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde for his alleged insensitivity towards the plight of workers in the state. While the exact duration of the strike is yet unknown, the governor has been urged to urgently engage with the striking unions to find a resolution. This development is significant as it highlights the ongoing labour disputes in the education sector in Oyo State and the potential impact on healthcare services and tertiary education.
