President Bola Tinubu has extended his condolences to the Niger Republic's military leader, General Abdourahamane Tiani, following the death of his father, Tiani Hassane.

President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Niger Republic’s military leader, General Abdourahamane Tiani, following the death of his father, Tiani Hassane. According to Punch Newspapers, the elder Tiani passed away on Thursday at the age of 110. In a statement released on Saturday, President Tinubu offered his sympathies to General Tiani and his family, expressing his deep sorrow over the loss of a respected elder statesman. Tiani Hassane was a prominent figure in Niger’s political landscape, serving as a close advisor to several of the country’s leaders over the years. The Nigerian President’s gesture underscores the strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Niger, and highlights the importance of cultural and familial bonds between the two nations. This is not the first time President Tinubu has expressed his condolences to a foreign leader over the loss of a family member. In the past, he has sent messages of sympathy to leaders of various African countries following the deaths of their relatives.
