Former Rivers Commissioner Declares Battle Against Minister Wike

In an interview on Symfoni TV, Dr Leloonu Nwibubasa, a former Rivers State commissioner and spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Rivers State, has declared his intentions to oppose the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike. According to Daily Post Nigeria, Nwibubasa made the declaration while discussing the current political landscape in Nigeria. Daily Post Nigeria reports that Nwibubasa, a known critic of the Rivers State Government, has been vocal about his opposition to Wike in the past. This latest declaration comes as political tensions continue to rise ahead of the 2027 elections in Nigeria.

Nwibubasa’s decision to openly oppose Wike is significant, as the Minister has been a major player in Nigerian politics in recent years. As the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Wike has been instrumental in shaping the political landscape of Abuja and has been a key player in the ruling party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

This development is likely to add to the political drama that is expected to unfold in the coming months as Nigerians prepare for the 2027 elections. It remains to be seen how this declaration will impact the political landscape in Rivers State and whether other politicians will join Nwibubasa in his campaign against Wike.
