International Condolences Pour In for Nigeria Over Military Plane Crash
Following the tragic military plane crash that occurred in Igbokoda, Ondo State on Wednesday, October 6, condolences have poured in from foreign nations. The United States and Saudi Arabia have expressed their sympathies to Nigeria over the incident.
According to reports by TheCable, the US President, President Tinubu, and Saudi Arabia’s King, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, have sent messages of condolence to Nigeria over the loss of lives in the crash.
In a statement, President Tinubu expressed his deepest sympathies to the families of those who lost their loved ones and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured. The Saudi King also expressed his condolences to the Nigerian government and people, offering any necessary assistance to help manage the aftermath of the crash.
The plane, a Beechcraft King Air B350i operated by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), crashed into a swampy area in Igbokoda, Ondo State, killing 32 people, including eight NAF personnel and senior officers of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA).
The wreckage of the aircraft is reportedly difficult to remove due to the swampy terrain, according to the Ondo State Police Commissioner.
