Mass Exodus: Over 250 PDP and Accord Members Move to APC in Oyo State

Over 250 chieftains and members of the opposition parties, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord, have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State. The mass defection comes ahead of the 2027 general elections. According to Vanguard News and Tribune Online, the defectors were received by the leadership of the APC in the state, led by its chairman and former Deputy Governor, Chief Moses Alake Adeyemo. While the reasons for the defection are not clear, it is believed that the shift could influence the political landscape in Oyo State. The defections were confirmed by both Vanguard News and Tribune Online, but neither source has clarified if any other high-profile members or leaders defected from the PDP and Accord to APC. This development adds another layer of intrigue to the buildup to the 2027 elections in Oyo State.
