Lagos State has taken the lead in voter registration for the upcoming 2027 general elections, according to reports from several reliable outlets. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) disclosed that Lagos boasts a staggering 7.4 million registered voters, followed by Kano with 6.5 million and Kaduna with 4.6 million.
The figures were revealed in separate reports by THISDAYLIVE, Vanguard News, TheCable, and TVC News, all of which are widely respected sources of Nigerian news.
Katsina comes fourth with 3.8 million registered voters, followed closely by Rivers State with 3.7 million. Oyo rounds off the top five with 3.5 million registered voters.
It is crucial to note that these figures may change as voter registration continues up until the elections in 2027. The importance of accurate and timely information regarding voter registrations cannot be overstated, particularly during an election year.
